Rear bumper got dislodged on one side. Who can put it back?

Long story short, I was backing out and a small bit of fence sticking out and impossible for me to see dislodged the part of my bumper right behind the back wheel (on one side only). It's barely noticeable but that section of the bumper is off.

I noticed there's a hook so it just needs to be re-attached but the fit is so incredibly tight that I can't do it myself. Who would be able to do this for me? A mechanic or a body shop? Any ideas on the price?

I'm in Scarborough. If there are any suggestions as to where I could go to get this fixed, that'd be awesome.

Many people will just slam them back into place. This would not be the preferred method, especially if the bumper is a repaint. Typically you remove a couple screws/clips and put it back into place, then put the screws/clips back on.

The appropriate individual to do this is a body shop not a mechanic. An auto body technician removes bumpers every day and is trained to do so, a mechanic does not and is not trained to do so. Additionally, many body shops have a much lower hourly rate than a mechanic. You should pay less than an hour of labour, the challenge will be finding someone who does not want to just slam it back in for you.

That said, if you post the make and model of your car someone will be able to give you the instructions (with pictures) from a repair manual. Many times it involves removing 2-3 screws - you would be surprised how few screws actually hold on a modern bumper cover.

I had the same problem 2 months ago. Yes as another member has said the appropriate place is a body shop and not a mechanic. However their hourly rate is expensive. FIX in Mississauga did it for me .Gave me an estimate of 45 minutes which with taxes cost me 132 bucks. After I had agreed to their work they took my car inside and the job was done in 5 minutes.

Mine did the same thing on a 2006 Honda Odyssey. I just gave it a big hit with my hand and it popped back in/on.

If you are wanting to do it yourself, a forum that specializes in Yaris' will be able to give you a scan of the repair procedure:

Otherwise, unless you want someone to pop it in by hitting it, you should take it to an autobody shop. Their rates are very reasonable - in my area the body shops charge ~80/hour whereas my Nissan dealer charges 160/hour for mechanical work.
